RedHat Expert Session on Kubernetes and Openshift

Hello everyone, here’s a small article about a session I attended of Redhat on Kubernetes and OpenShift

The experts in the session were:

Mr. Amel Mathai,

Mr. Daleep Singh and

Mr. Abid Mattoo

I learnt various new things in these session about the Kubernetes and Openshift. Benefits of K8s and how use case of openshift helps into it and a number of other things like platform as a service

Here’s a short summary of what I learnt in this session:

-> OpenShift is a container platform for Kubernetes that can automate the provisioning, management and scaling of applications so that we can focus on writing the code

• -Features of Openshift:

1.Helps developers delivering high-quality applications and functionalities in a faster way

2.Improves business and efficiency results satisfying the customers’ and users’ needs

3.The continuous application management needs less time

• >Platform as a service (PaaS) is a complete development and deployment environment in the cloud, with resources that enable you to deliver everything from simple cloud-based apps to sophisticated, cloud-enabled enterprise applications
• Podman is a fully featured container engine that is a simple daemonless tool. It eases the transition from other container engines and allows the management of pods, containers and images

Containerized applications share a operating system environment (kernel) so they use fewer resources than full virtual machines and reduce pressure on the host’s memory. This is one of the advantage of container technology over the Virtualization VM
